Privacy Highlights

These “Privacy Highlights” provide an overview of some core components of our data handling practices. Please be sure to review the Full Privacy Statement below.

“Confidential Information” means all and any data, information, documents, and other ideas limited for use by only Company or Participant that can be used to distinguish or trace the identity of the Participant, either alone or when combined with other Participant or Participant identifying information that is linked or linkable to the specific Participant;  

“Aggregate information”  means information that has been stripped of your winery name, personal name, and contact information and combined with information of others so that you cannot be identified as an individual, with third parties. This Information is different from “Confidential Information” and is not Personal Information because it does not identify any particular individual or disclose any particular individual’s data. For example, Aggregate Information may include a statement that “The average winery producing less than 10k cases in Napa is down -30% in Tasting Room Sales for the year” without providing any data specific to any individual user.

“Customer Information” means all and any data, information, documents related to customers of Participant including any transaction, email, name, etc.

Community Benchmark Inc. (“CB”), is a privacy conscious organization

  1. No Distribution of Confidential Information – CB will not share, sell, rent or lease your Confidential Information to others without your consent, except as provided in this policy.
  2. Distribute Only Aggregate Information – We only distribute Aggregate Information.  We do not distribute individual winery results, even if it has been stripped of identifiable information.
  3. No Customer Information – We do not touch or handle any highly sensitive data such as your customer records, customer names, customer credit cards.  If CB receives any Customer Information in any data transfer, CB will delete Customer Information immediately upon reception as the first step in any treatment of Confidential Information received.

Full Privacy Statement

The following privacy statement explains how we protect personal information gathered via our relationship with our members and the software bench marking application. Information Collection

As a member, we will collect and store Confidential information from you only where such information is specifically and voluntarily provided by you and only for the reasons set forth in this policy.  For billing purposes, such information may consist of, but is not limited to, your name, current job title, company address, email address and telephone, and credit card or banking information.  We do not touch or handle any highly sensitive data such as your customer records, customer names, customer credit cards.  “Confidential Information” means all and any data, information, documents, and other ideas limited for use by only Company or Participant that can be used to distinguish or trace the identity of the Participant, either alone or when combined with other Participant or Participant identifying information that is linked or linkable to the specific Participant.

Transmission of of Information to Third Parties

We may provide some of your personal information to outside service providers, such as payment processors, who require that information in order to process orders on our behalf or to help register our users for CB events.  However, we will not share your Confidential Information with any other party, for any reason, unless otherwise disclosed at the point of collection.

Additionally, if you opt to receive certain third party products or services through CB, or if you request information about a particular third party’s products or services, we may provide your personal information to that third party for purposes of fulfilling your request(s). With respect to service providers, we require that all personal information be kept confidential and used only for the intended purpose. Additionally, we take reasonable steps to ensure that third parties receiving information about you at your request maintain the confidentiality of that information.

CB will not share, sell, rent or lease your Confidential Information to others without your consent, except as provided in this policy.

Information Use

Personal information is used only for billing purposes and provision of services only. For example, when you register with the website to gain access to premium content or request future communications about CB areas of interest, such as specific CB publications or marketing campaigns, we may use the information you submit to create a personal profile to customize our service for you.  And, when you choose to purchase CB products and/or subscriptions or to register online for an CB hosted event, we will, working with an outside payment processor, use the Confidential Information you may submit to process your order or request, and to respond to you. In addition, the web masters may, where necessary, use your information for various site related tasks. We may also use the fact that you are a member for marketing campaigns but again will not share, sell, rent, or lease your Confidential Information to others without your consent.  In those cases we will ensure that our marketing activities comply with applicable law, and implement procedures to obtain necessary consents before sending you emails containing information about CB service offerings. You may at any time request that we discontinue sending you such materials.

Access to Information

We are dedicated to providing reasonable access to members who wish to review the personal information retained when they register with our website and correct any inaccuracies it may contain. Members who choose to register may access their user profile, correct and update their details, or unsubscribe at any time. Members who have any problem accessing their profiles, or would like to request a copy of their personal information should contact Webmaster Services using the Contact link. In all cases we will treat requests to access information or change information in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Information Security

CB has in place recommended high standards of technological security for the purpose of protecting information provided by Members from misuse, loss, or corruption, including, but not limited to Secure Sockets Layer.  A copy of our web application security standards is available upon request.  These standards are periodically reviewed and, if necessary, updated or revised. Only authorized personnel have access to Confidential Information submitted through the website. Such employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of this sensitive data. The policy also applies to any and all agents, affiliates, and related entities of CB that may receive such information from us. All members, however, should be aware that our website may contain links to other sites that are not governed by this or any other privacy statement.

Aggregate Information Only

We only distribute Aggregate Information.  We do not distribute individual winery results, even if it has been stripped of identifiable information.

Deletion on Arrival

If CB receives any Customer Information in any data transfer, CB will delete Customer Information immediately upon reception as the first step in any treatment of Confidential Information received.

Write Privileges

If CB has setup an automated connection to your database system, ideally your service provider has the capability to provide read-only access. If the service provider does not have the capability to provide read-only access, we have no automatic requests or connections that can write and/or modify your information.

Changes to our Privacy Policy

CB reserve the right to modify or amend this privacy statement at any time and for any reason. Nothing contained herein creates or is intended to create a contract or agreement between us and any user visiting the Web site or providing identifying information of any kind.
